Phase 1 of skin health starts with gut health. In this bundle, I put together 3 essential vitamins needed to repair the gut and the skin - Vitamin D3/K2, Zinc, and Omega 3. Additionally,  the digestive enzymes and probiotics are a necessary step to healing the gut. All these supplements work together to provide the essential nutrients for the gut and the skin. For Phase 2, see the Advanced Eczema Support Bundle.

How Vitamin D Works

Often called the 'sunshine vitamin', vitamin D plays an integral role in skin protection and rejuvenation. In its active form as calcitriol, vitamin D contributes to skin cell growth, repair, and metabolism. It enhances the skin's immune system and helps to destroy free radicals that can cause dry, red, peeling skin.

There is evidence suggesting an association between eczema and vitamin D deficiency. Several studies have found that individuals with eczema tend to have lower levels of vitamin D compared to those without the condition. Vitamin D deficiency may exacerbate eczema symptoms due to its role in modulating the immune system, maintaining skin barrier function, and regulating inflammation. Nonetheless, ensuring adequate vitamin D levels through supplementation, sunlight exposure, or dietary sources may help manage eczema symptoms and support overall skin health.

How Zinc Works

Zinc possesses anti-inflammatory properties, which can help alleviate the inflammation associated with eczema and reduce symptoms such as redness, itching, and irritation. Additionally, zinc supports wound healing and skin regeneration by promoting cell growth and tissue repair.

Zinc deficiency can compromise the skin's barrier function and impair immune function, both of which are implicated in the development and exacerbation of eczema.

How Omega-3 Works:

Omega-3s may moisturize the skin and fight red, dry, or itchy skin caused by skin disorders like atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. Omega-3s appear to improve skin barrier function, sealing in moisture and keeping out irritants. These essential fatty acids have to come from our diet since the body cannot produce them, and they are known to reduce the formation of inflammatory cells.

How Digestive Enzymes Work

In addition to the enzymes secreted by the liver and pancreas, our intestinal walls are lined by cells which produce digestive enzymes that assist with the passing, digestion, and absorption of nutrients. When the intestinal cells are not performing at optimum levels, they produce less enzymes, which in many cases can manifest as leaky gut.

Leaky gut leads to food intolerances and poorly controlled inflammation. These chosen enzymes are selected for their potency, low allergen potential, and effectiveness. The enzymes are formulated from fungi and without using animal products. The powder formulation can easily be made into a paste with water and applied to the inside of the cheek or added to the first bite of food.

How Probiotics Work

Gut health is imperative to overall good health. 3.3 trillion bacteria reside in our gut and are responsible for thousands of functions, including digestion. A healthy microbiome acts as a protective barrier, preventing the colonization of harmful bacteria and fungi while also modulating the immune response to reduce inflammation. Imbalances in the skin microbiome have been associated with various skin conditions, including eczema, acne, and rosacea.

This custom blend is ideal for formula-fed infants, and it is designed to gently promote gastrointestinal microbial balance, immune function, and digestive health. This product is formulated in unflavored, powder-filled sticks that are easy to mix into liquids.
