How Vitamin C Works

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant. What are antioxidants? During periods of illness our cells break down and create free radicals. Think pinballs. These free radicals ping around randomly and damage surrounding cells and tissues. Our bodies make antioxidants which are like PacMan’s that gobble up the free radicals.

As we age, we make less antioxidants. During periods of illness, the body produces more and more free radicals which increase inflammation and makes us feel bad. Vitamin C helps counteract this process. This formulation is in a fat solution (liposomal) to enhance absorption.

How Vitamin D Works

Vitamin D plays a crucial role in the immune system's ability to fight infections. It has been shown to enhance the function of various immune cells, including T cells and macrophages, which are responsible for identifying and destroying pathogens such as bacteria and viruses. Vitamin D also helps regulate the production of antimicrobial peptides, which are small proteins that can directly kill bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms.

Additionally, vitamin D modulates the inflammatory response, helping to prevent excessive inflammation while still effectively combating infections. Studies have found that maintaining adequate vitamin D levels may reduce the risk of respiratory tract infections, influenza, and other infectious diseases.

How Zinc Works

Zinc plays a vital role in the immune system's ability to combat infections. It is involved in various immune functions, including the development and function of immune cells, the production of antibodies, and the regulation of inflammation.

Zinc deficiency has been linked to impaired immune responses and increased susceptibility to infections. Supplementing with zinc has been shown to enhance immune function and reduce the severity and duration of infections, particularly respiratory infections like the common cold.

Zinc may help inhibit the replication of viruses, enhance the activity of immune cells such as T cells and natural killer cells, and promote the production of cytokines, which are signaling molecules involved in the immune response. Additionally, zinc possesses antioxidant properties, helping to protect cells from oxidative stress caused by pathogens.

How Elderberry Immune Works

Elderberry Plus Immune provides immune support in a pleasant-tasting liquid.  Research suggests that certain herbs, mushrooms, and other natural compounds may have the ability to support normal immune functions, such as natural killer (NK) cell activity, cytokine synthesis, and the T-cell— and B-cell—mediated responses.

Ingredients, such as elderberry, shiitake, and wild cherry bark, are known for their beneficial effects for maintaining a healthy immune system. Elderberry Plus Immune is sweetened with glycerine, tastes great, and is ideal for both children and adults.
