The items selected in this bundle are to help the nervous system simmer down.
How Omega3s Work
Omega- 3 essential fatty acids are one of the basic building blocks of the brain. Brain cell membranes are about 20 percent fatty acids and they seem to be crucial for keeping brain signals moving smoothly. This class of fat is called "essential" because, unlike many nutrients, our bodies cannot produce it. We can get it only from very specific parts of our diets. Research shows that the Omega 3 fatty acid, EPA, might be more effective than traditional antianxiety/antidepressant medication. Supplements like fish oil normalize dopamine levels in the body, helping to regulate the amygdala. Serotonin is the chemical that is responsible for regulating our moods, and therefore affects our anxiety levels. Serotonin transmits messages from neuron to neuron. Studies have shown that if cell membranes do not get enough Omega-3 fatty acids, serotonin is blocked.
How Vitamin D Works
Vitamin D activates genes that regulate the immune system and release neurotransmitters (e.g., dopamine, serotonin) that affect brain function and development. Researchers have found vitamin D receptors on a handful of cells located in regions in the brain-the same regions that are linked with depression and mood disorders. Several studies have shown that people with anxiety have lower levels of vitamin D as compared to those without anxiety.
How the ingredients in Liposomal GABA work
GABA is considered an inhibitory neurotransmitter because it blocks, or inhibits, certain brain signals and decreases activity in your nervous system. When GABA attaches to a protein in your brain known as a GABA receptor, it produces a calming effect. This can help with feelings of anxiety, stress, and fear.
L-Theanine has an anti-anxiety effect through enhanced alpha brain wave activity and increased synthesis of GABA. Increased GABA, in turn, increases brain levels of dopamine and serotonin, resulting in general feelings of calm and well-being
